英语时间状语从句该如何翻译？

　　一、译成相应的时间状语
　　例 1 ： Please turn off the light when you leave the classroom.
　　译文：离开教室时请关灯。
　　例 2:When the light fell on the floor,all the people ran away in a panic.
　　译文：灯掉到地上的时候，所有人都惊恐地跑开了。
　　例 3 ： When I was looking for my purse, a man of wretched appearance ran out of the store rapidly.
　　译文:我正在找钱包时，一个猥琐的男子快速跑出了店子。

　　二、译成并列分句
　　例 1 ：He listened to the radio as he did his homework.
　　译文:他一边做作业，一边听收音机。
　　例 2 ： They set hostage free when they had not got his ransom.
　　译文:他们还没拿到赎金，就把人质放了。
　　例 3 : Mr. Smith lost his consciousness when he himself was not aware of what had happened.
　　译文：史密斯先生还不知道发生了什么，就失去意识了 。
　　三、译作……就……”结构
　　例 1 :When I entered the bedroom，I collapsed.
　　译文:我一进卧室就晕倒了。
　　例 2： We had hardly arrived when it began to rain.
　　译文：我们一到就下雨了。

　　四、译成状语
　　英语中存在形式和内容不统一的情况，有些形式上的时间状语从句实际上翻译公司的译者可以翻译成表示条件、原因、让步等的分句。
