　　一、巧用被动语气婉转
　　例1：双方均已同意，至于目前洽谈的补偿贸易方案，将由甲方全面责任在 规定限期内完成机器设备的安装调试任务，至该厂在生产质量上和数量上都能 达到规定的标准时，乙方应当接收并以上述机器生产的产品来偿还该机器的 价款。

　　这是有关补偿贸易的条款，翻译时可考虑使用被动语态，则主语成为动作 的承受者，强调的是实实在在的结果，因而可以有效避免诸如we和I之类让人 听起来不够专业的感觉，使得表达更为客观，语气更加委婉。例如，“你方来函 表示愿与我方建立直接业务关系，我们已经收到，非常感谢！ ”可以精简地译成Your letter expressing the hope of entering into business relations with us has been received with thanks.又如，“你们尽管放心，我们一收到你们的信用证就会立刻 安排装运。”可以译成 You may be assured that we shall effect shipment with the least possible delay upon receipt of the L/C.再如，“我们觉得在平等互利基础上采 取措施恢复关系对双方都有好处。”译成We feel that it will be beneficial to both parties if steps are taken to renew the business relations on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.借助被动语态的运用，使得语气婉转，表达明快。翻译公司译者翻译：
　　Under the present compensation plan we mutually agreed upon, party A should assume full responsibility for the installation and pilot runs of the plant equipment and machinery within stipulated periods; party B shall not be required to accept the plant until it can meet the specified qualitative and quantitative production standards and repayment of the cost of the machine will be made with the products produced with the said machine.

　　二、调整语序首尾呼应
　　例2：贵方所需货物，目前无法供应，我方深感遗憾。现正另寻货源，一旦 得以补充，欣然重议此事。
　　这是卖方无现货可供时对买家所作的解释和承诺。原文釆用工整的六字结 构，体现了中文思维的一个从原因到结果的渐进的过程。以原文前三个小句为 例，如果译成 we can not supply the goods you demand so we feel sorry 则显得平淡 无奇。从英语思维的角度看，不外乎卖方的两个主要意思表示，一是感到遗憾， 二是还要行动。翻译时就应该通过调整语序突出以写信人为主语的情况陈述， 之所以有必要调整语序，是因为只有借助语义和句法，完整的句子框架才得以 形成。没有句子成分就没有文本语法，没有紧凑和协调的语序，就难以实现源 语（ST)的目的和功能。德国功能学派的代表人物ChristianeNord (2006: 130) 也强调，“首先要通过分析句子的长度和类型、其他能够代替句子的成分、主句 和从句的分布以及句子之间的关联，得到一个源语文本的典型句式的初步印象, 在此基础上译者才能发现原文信息是如何构建的，从而进一步实现句子功能的 阐述。”译文：

　　We regret to inform you that we are not in a position to provide you with the goods you asked for and we are now trying to look for such commodities through other channels. Once our supplies are replenished, we shall be only too pleased to revert to this matter.
