WES（World Education Services）成立于1974年，是美国的非营利性组织。它为有意在美国或加拿大留学或工作的人提供成绩认证，是北美最大的资历评估公司，其评估认证报告在美国高校中使用非常普遍。
每年九月是留学申请的高峰季节，在留学的各个国家中，美国留学成绩单认证是必不可少的一环。
所以，对于想去北美留学或将来有需要在北美找工作甚至移民的伙伴来说，进行WES成绩认证，是很有必要的。
从2018年7月开始，中国学位及教育文凭持有者申请WES认证，可以直接由学生的本科学校的学籍管理处或学生本人（要求密封）寄出认证的相关材料。
WES认证是什么？自考学历要不要做？
WES（World Education Services） 是美国和加拿大最常用的国际学历认证机构。说白了，就是把你的中国学历"换算"成北美标准，算出你的GPA相当于那边的几等。
哪些情况必须做WES？
申请美国大多数大学，申请加拿大多数大学，澳大利亚部分院校（如八大名校）
哪些情况不需要？
英国、新西兰：一般不需要，学校直接审核
欧洲大陆：各有各的认证体系
WES认证流程（以自考学历为例）：
Step 1: 在WES官网（wes.org）注册账号，提交申请
Step 2: 学信网（chsi.com.cn）提交学历认证申请
Step 3: 找翻译公司出具成绩单中英文翻译件（盖章）
Step 4: 学信网审核通过后，直接寄送电子报告给WES
Step 5: WES完成评估，约7-10个工作日出具报告
⚠️ 注意：2024年起，WES已不再接受申请人自行翻译的成绩单。必须由专业翻译公司或学校官方出具。
我们社里有个客户整整被WES折腾了两个月——就是因为一开始自己翻译了成绩单，被打回来重新弄。后来我们帮他出翻译件，一周就通过了。
自考生申请留学的完整时间线，给你一个参考计划，从0开始到拿到offer：
时间节点 事项
T-18个月 确定目标国家+学校清单，开始学语言
T-12个月 拿到学位证（如果还没拿到，先考过最后一门）
T-10个月 翻译毕业证、学位证、成绩单
T-8个月 启动WES认证/学信网认证（预留充足时间）
T-6个月 考出雅思/托福成绩
T-4个月 准备文书（PS、推荐信、CV），提交申请
T-3个月 面试（如有），等待offer
T-2个月 收到offer后办理签证、资金证明
T-1个月 订机票、找住宿、收拾行李
关键提醒：所有和"翻译""认证"相关的环节，至少要提前 2-3个月 开始弄，千万不要等到截止日前才开始慌。WES认证高峰期可能排到20个工作日，学信网也慢得很。

如果出生证明上的名字与护照或其他移民文件上的名字不同（例如拼音拼写不同、曾经改名等），建议同时提交改名证明文件（如法院改名令、结婚证等）和一份解释信（Explanation Letter），说明名字不一致的原因。翻译件应准确反映原文件上的名字，不要擅自修改。
